To All Coupe Owners With 18 or 19 inch Wheels - How is the Ride?
I think I want to put some Brabus 18 or 19s on my car when it gets back to the country, but the ride on the stock 16s was really nice. How much stiffer is the ride with 18s and are they dangerous to drive if the roads are crappy? (there are a LOT of NASTY potholes here in Atlanta)

Be careful!
The larger rims look nice, but remember you are giving up considerable sidewall compression area. You will give up some ride quality, but more importantly if you hit the edges of one of those Atlanta sinkholes you increase the risk of a sidewall failure.

Yeah but even with the potholes there are still a crap load of Escalades on 22s with like 295/35 tires... so it cant be that bad.

COMING FROM SHOWING CARS ALL THE TIME I HAVE TAKEN A FEW RIDE IN THE CARS WITH 35'S AND 40'S TIRES ON RIMS THAT ARE BIGG-OL DUBBISH QUALITY.
BUT, YOU SHOULD RIDE IN A CAR ROLLIN' ON 35 SERIES AND SEE THE INCREASES FEELING THAT YOU GET FROM THE ROAD. THAT WILL HELP YOU DETERMINE FOR YOURSELF.
MY LAST TWO CARS HAVE BEEN ON 40 SERIES 205/40/16 AND YOU CAN FEEL THE POTHOLES THAT YOU ROLL OVER SO MUCH MORE INTENSE THAN STOCK STUFF. I PERSONALLY DONT HAVE A BIG ISSUE WITH IT BUT MOST OF THE TIME I DONT HAVE PASSENGERS EITHER. IF YOU BOUGHT THE CAR YOU DRIVE FOR THE "ELEGANCE OF THE RIDE" THEN DON'T DO IT.
EVERY CAR I HAVE OWNED HAS BEEN ON RIMS.
I'M STILL GONNA ROLL WITH THE AFTERMARKET WHEELS BUT A BIG HEADS UP, THE RIDE QUALITY IS SARIFICED FOR LOOKS.
ALSO, GOING PAST 18" WHEELS IS A COMPROMISE OF HANDLING TOO.
