CL-Style Grill - star coming loose
Greetings all,
I sent an email to Jerry at formymercedes.com with this same question, as I purchased the CL-style grill from him for my W203. Perhaps someone here has had the same experience.
The grill has been on my car for a few months. While washing the car today, I noticed the star is coming loose from the grill at the bottom, where adhesive/glue/whatever has weakened and given way. Question is, how to reattach it?
Smooth plastic is very difficult to glue, even with proper surface prep (i.e. roughing it with sandpaper). Any suggestions for adhesive, glue, whatever? I'm thinking something like solvent weld, but I wouldn't know where to get that. Gorilla glue is not the answer, as I've used it in other less stressful applications, and it has not held.
Help!
