water pump changed yet?
Just wondering if anyone has changed their water pump preventively or
after having seen it failed? year? mileage?
My 01 is running up to 55k miles.
I did a search of "water pump" in this w203 group with nothing much found.

83K miles on the original water pump. This engine design has been around since '96 (I believe) and I searched other forums looking for the same thing and didn't find any posts on excessive water pump failures. mbtech advised not to use green/low mileage coolant and stick with orange/high mileage when changing. It looks like the hardest part of changing the water pump will be getting the right socket

Coolant life....
Extended life (orange) coolant has a suggested life of 150K miles or 5 years. As the coolant ages it changes to a darker color. MB puts blue coolant in at the factory (not available retail that I know of) . My owner's manual says replace every 3 years....which seems bogus to me that it is not tied to mileage since it is a closed system.
