C Class Gets 5-Star Rating in Euro Crash Tests
I don't know much about the European crash tests but it sounds like this is good news.

Read the 2002 C Class test scores (numerical, not the stars) and then read the 2001 C Class scores - they're the same.
The C Class was a 4 star car in 2001 but now, because of a revised scoring system which gives brownie points for the fittment of safety labels in the car, it's a five star car. Phooey.
Sorry, the only pre-scoring revision five star car they've assessed to date (on the basis of the crash test performance itself) is the Renault Laguna 2001. Compare its numerical scores to those of the C and you'll see the difference.
The C is a safe car and its four star EuroNCAP rating is respectible. But this re-writing of last year's test result looks fishy. If I was Renault, I'd be howling blue murder.
