Shift Boot?

Shift Boot?
I need a new shift boot for my 2001 automatic and call the Stealership to see how much one would cost and they told me that I would not be able to buy just the shift boot by itself, because it came only with the knob. Is this true? I know the knob is removable so why couldn't they sell it separately? Any insight into this would be appreciated. Thanks

got this one for my C320 Sport Coupé from another MBWorld member for $50
brand new still sealed in the bag... the boot is the leather skirt around the knob (or lever, as referred to in the UK).
probably going to get one of the 2005 sport shift knob/lever boot combo
for the C320 Sport Sedan.
