Trunk lid issue
Hi I’m new to this forum.
I have a 2002 C240 that just came out of warranty. Today when I went outside to get something out of the trunk, the trunk would not open. I heard the pop sound but it wouldn’t extend open. I had to pull it open and then the trunk lid stayed open. I closed it and attempted to open it again, but it would not. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? If so, what parts do I need to replace?

Do a search, a lotta people got this problem when they put c55 spoilers on their trunk lid, thus making it heavier. It's possible the springs / w/e they MB uses got worn out over time and you need to replace them. Don't think it should be much money. GL

I saw those posts also but I didn't add anything. It just stopped working. Does anyone know how I could fix it or part I should get to replace? I'm not going to take it to the dealership cause they will charge me an arm and leg.
