C230 Lettering Becoming Loose

The C230 badge lettering on the rear left trunk is becoming loose. You know what to use to make them stick better?

Don't use anything. You have a 2002, it s/b covered under the warranty. A free dealer fix is always the best.

Yeah, bring it back to the dealer & have them fix it. Dont put anything yrself, dont want you to ruin the paint.

Or you might take out the "0" and put a "AMG" badge in replacing the Kompressor. Then it will become a C23 AMG!

Just kidding!

I just called the MB dealer. They say it's not under warranty and I asked if they can put some glue underneath to make it a better stick. Then he goes you can't do that because you'd have to buy the individual letters to replace them.

In other words, he wants you to spend money.

That's weak. The dealer I used to take my Acura to would fix something like as a matter of routine (and without having to even ask) - I would hope for better service from MB.

Sigh...BT

When i was taking off all my badging in the rear i first took off the 0 and was staring at C23 a while and it somehow looked pretty weird. so then i just took everything off.

It would be better if you just remove them. All you need is a hair dryer or heat gun, dental floss and wd40.

Your dealer is telling you crap. That should be covered under warranty. Call your sales monkey and tell him you will never buy another car from them because of this attitude. And call the sales manager too. Just because the letters were not put on properly does not make it your responsibility.

I like the rear without badges

Why advertise??

It makes people wonder, "what is it?"

Just use dental floss and a mixture of car wash lquid and water in a spray bottle. Spray the solution around the letters and use the floss. They come off easily.

Just don't remove the star or no one will have any idea of what kind of car it is.

Why yes,

needless to say,

Never remove the Star.

Although some people on the TT forum have removed the Audi rings and all badges front and back -- gives it more of a track look -- and not terribly attractive IMHO

I see this all of the time (especially on A4s) and I concur with your opinion.

Not that it's an issue w/ the C230, but whenever I see the debadged sedans, I can't help but think it's a C240 incognito.

Viper is correct. If that doesn't work, keep going higher up the food chain. The letters are not a "wear and tear" item and should abosolutely be covered under warranty. Keep us posted on your progress.
