Earliest FSS oil change?
For those with the '04 or older cars with free oil service, when was the earliest (i.e. how many miles did the FSS say you could go before an oil change) that you could take it in to the dealer for the free service? I'm at 2,200 miles but thought if it was under 1,000 there shouldn't be an issue.
Thanks

Yup...
1000 miles, but I don't know if that is an official MB policy or an accepted policy. (I'm assuming that you mean it says 2200 miles before the service is due)

Oil changes are done at intervals equivalent to service - approximately 10k, 20k, 30k, 40k.....etc
I bought my E320 used (11k miles), so I changed the oil immediately. When my C was delivered, it had a blended fossil/synthetic oil in it. I changed to full synthetic Mobil1 at 1k miles...and change it every 5k in both cars - with tire rotation (at my own expense).
The dealer still gives free changes at the service intervals...I pay for the interim. Even though they have assured me I can go a full 10k....I call it inexpensive peace of mind.
