Price Reduction Question

My C class has been on order since April, just been built in June, being picked up end August.

In the UK they have just issued new price lists and an SE upgrade package. This give auto, alloys and metallic as standard, which I have paid extra for. I have just worked out that the price of my car all in is now more than £2000 cheaper. Am I entitled to a reduced price now as I have not taken delivery and it has just been built?. I am about to discuss with dealer.

My view is that I have paid £500 deposit, if he will not play ball then I could cancel and order another one and save £1500+ overall. Not really preferred option as I will have to wait longer. The dealer would then be stuck with a car with many factory options.

Anyone know how I stand with a price reduction while waiting for car?

I'd assume that the price would be fluid until final delivery - especially if you're paying MSRP.

Cheers, BT

When I first ordered in April I knocked £2000 off the price by paying cash and no part x. Makes me wonder if they knew this was coming.

When we ordered our C 230 Kompressor in March, the dealer suggested that we would be responsible for any price increases that may be announced before the car was delivered. Well, there were none which is just as well as the car is great and we would not have enjoyed the fight with the dealer.

But surely this is a two-way street; if the price had gone down, surely the same rule would apply. Or do they have it both ways?
