yet another air filter/MAF question......

may be a very simple question actually.

anyone know the brandname of the airfilters that come with the car?

i replaced them with Mann filters....and am having p170 and p173 problems, have changed spark plugs and front and rear o2 sensors, the MAF is next if i can find a good deal.

but then while browsing the forums, i read about aftermarket filters actually clogging MAFs so i wondered if me changing them had anything to do with it. Granted, it's not like i got "performance" filters and oiled them but i was just curious if it would help if i put the original air filters back in.

any thoughts, advice, or shared experience would be appreciated.

Mann came with my car. What year/model do you have? Did you touch the MAF when you did any of your maintenance? Did you install plugs/O2 sensors/air filters all at once with no tests in between? Did you have the same error codes (or any) before changing the parts? Maybe the ECU needs to adjust/adapt to the new parts?

Is it possible the Mann filters you bought do not meet the Mercedes spec? I have found the same size Mann filter available in 1/2, 5, and 10 micron.
