C320 humming noise
After about 5,000kms, I started to hear droaning noise from my C320. The noise started from 50km/h all the way up to 100km/h. I can feel the steering wheel vibrate slightly when the noise comes. Talked to service and said it happens with the new C and CLK. Don't know it is engine noise or a kind of natural resonance. Does anyone experience the same?

It seems like if it is a tire problem, you'd have noticed it before now. And, I think the noise is more an indicator than the vibration itself. A tire doesn't usually just start making noise at 5000 kms. I wonder if it could be a wheel bearing problem or similar? You should have it checked. Don't take the service guys explanation without having them look at it. My $.02.

I agree with MarkL, QQQ. Tell them you have (several) friends on this forum who do not have this problem. My C320 wheel does not vibrate at all, and I don't notice the sound you describe. Mine came with Pirelli P6 tires. Don't know if you have the same.
I wouldn't take no from the dealer "servicemonkey." This kind of noise at just 5K (3,100 miles) is ridiculus, and they should accept your input and investigate. I just hate it when the wrenchhead says, "well, that's just the way they are." BS.

I just started noticing yesterday that when I drove around 35mph-40mph, the steering wheel vibrates. But as soon as you speed up and slow down out of 35-40mph speed zone, the vibration goes away. So strange. Anybody else experience this problem? By the way, my car has about 600 miles. Thank you!

Lots of previous posts on vibrations at different speeds (old forum?). Tire 'flatspotting', bad balance, tire type, air pressure, and alignment all named as culprits. 'Flatspot' noticeable when tires were cold. No vibration is normal and dealer should fix to your satisfaction. My 320 has had no vibrations in 15K miles. However, needed alignment when they straightened the steering wheel and it tracked MUCH better afterwards, didn't know what I was missing.

Thanx for your input. Here's what happened:
1. Took to dealer where I bought the car. They cannot hear the noise at test drive. Wheels rebalanced. Problem not fixed.
2. Took the car to another dealer. Service advisor cannot find problem. Requested a test ride with shop foreman and he heard the noise. He said could be tire problem (Continental).
3. Will do a test drive with a rep from MB Canada December 13 to see if this is a problem worth reporting back to Germany for solution.
