Dynopack - flywheel horsepower

Does anyone know what is the flywheel horsepower about ? I installed the Kleemann pulley kit on my M271 engine and performed a dyno today, achieved a flywheel horsepower of 172. How does this translate to BHP ?

The stock engine claims to be 163 BHP and will like to confirm if the flywheel HP equates to BHP.

BHP (Brake Horsepower): The total amount of HP an engine makes without the parasitic losses from accessories, (alt, ac compressor, p/s, etc.) or the drivetrain. The number the dyno gave you includes parasitic losses from the drive accessories, but not the drivetrain.

Flywheel horsepower means measured at the flywheel, as opposed to measured at the wheels, so you avoid powertrain losses. You can measure power at the flywheel in net, gross, or whatever. It all depends on how you set the engine up.

If the engine is in the car and they are quoting flywheel horsepower, it's probably an estimate based on chassis numbers... meaning it's not all that useful. You should have done a baseline run with no mods and another run after the mods were completed to get a useful measure of improvement.

Please tell me you did a before/after dyno! Otherwise, what's the point?
