The last four days driving, have been challenged by:

Corvette Z06
BMW Z4 2.5
Chrysler Crossfire
G35 Coupe
Porsche Boxster

Tonight was the Z4...passed him innocently at a stop light...I pull over to pick up my girlfriend, I look over and he's sitting there...I wave him on as if to say "not interested". Get on the highway and see brakes up ahead, to which I uttered to my girl "guaran-f'ing-teed this is the Bimmer". Sure enough...he paced me for 2-3 miles. Probably would have been a good race, but what do I have to prove? People are challenging ME thinking my car is fast, why spoil that impression? :v

I've also been tail-gated incessantly, deliberately boxed in, cursed at, flipped the bird, cut off a handful of times, and paced so I couldn't pass, all since Friday night. Does everyone driving a C230 SS experience this? I've done my fair share of aggressive driving, but even my girlfriend will attest to the fact that I am a different driver (i.e. CALM) behind the wheel of this car and have done nothing to provoke such behavior.

The corvette driver had to be out of his mind...it was nighttime, perhaps thinking I had the C55? Or are these people just that ignorant?

This car gets A LOT of attention, both good and bad. Someone is going to get me killed, because I refuse to engage in racing...well, when it's 90 degrees with 85% humidity and the AC blasting, anyway

For someone in phila, you got alot of exotic cars in your area. And really, if those people were really racing you... do you think you would WIN????? I think NOT, so dream on.

i 996 3.6 C2 paced me for a few mins a week ago but nothing happened.

i'm guessing your car is debadged? they either definitely think it's a C55 or are looking for an easy kill to brag about (Z4 2.5 may have been an interesting run though).

As for your driving style, i hear what your saying. I drive my car pretty calm as well compared to the way i used to drive my 330. definitely feels like more of a cruiser plus knowing that I can't really take too many cars on the road worth talking about, it keeps me from putting people in their place sometimes. I had my 330Ci debadged for awhile and i think some thought it was the 325 and wouldn't lay off when i was just driving conservatively. had to open her up and put their tail between their legs. ran a long list of different cars in my bimmer

I actually have had only one car try and race me in my C and it was a neon SRT4. it would toast me stock but the BOV was loud as hell and i'm almost positive it was worked. had some cosmetic work too and some young kid (looked about 18/19) was driving it.

As far as my car goes yes ido get many people trying to race me its crazy . Ihave not debadged at all just cl style grill. They know it's not a fast car just want to pic on the little guy! lol But yeah t looks fast with amg package.

Maybe all these folks are behaving this way because you are driving your car like a granny and that pissed them off?

Here is a tip on how to get rid of a tailgater: 1: Switch on your rear fog light. That thing is very bright, they will very likely back off. 2: Squirt some windshield washer repeatedly, 2-3 times - they will get a good shower which should get them off your back. If not, consider yourself being stalked - call the cops

hahahha....weird...no one ever wanted to race me.
the car is so slow, i have to pull it to 4000rpm to catch up with
the traffic. but the upside, it's very comfortable and smooth.
the nice sound from the supercharger turns head sometimes.

z06 and g35 will beat c230, not sure about the others.

splashing the car behind is gonna make the situation worse.
i was in a friend's car, and we got splashed. so he cut in front
of that car and splashed em back. was kinda fun tho.

Regarding 325i's, one raced my Mustang GT on I-95 NB around the airport and I laid waste to him.

Lol, your responses are great. And that tool who called those cars exotic? Definitely a troll....those are all fast/moderately fast cars, but exotic? And why spoil their impression of our car?

My car is not debadged...I think the "kompressor" implies "fast" to those who don't know. The AMG bodywork, the word 'sport', the exhaust, all give the impression of speed. But one would think a Z06 driver would know the difference. I used to enjoy smoking 3-series, non-S Boxsters, and other cars of that ilk in my G, but am perfectly happy accepting that the C is relatively slow these days...I have nothing to prove and it amuses me it seems so many other people do...

I still drive with as much urgency as a I used to, just not as aggressively. To say I'm doing anything to annoy these people, other than wearing the star, is ridiculous. F' em, I say, my only fear is to come outside one day and see a big long key mark down the side from some resentful *****.

Ok, Tony Luke's for lunch and then spirited racing down Pattison Ave. :p

Last Friday, I was driving home after a night out in town. Got on the highway and there was a RX8 beside me, we both hit 120mph and kept 100-120mph for about 3-6 miles. Out from no where blazed out a Red M3 …didn't know we hit 130 till I realize I had to exit. Not sure about the RX8, but the M3 was definitely Toying with us.

The C230K will cause trouble that it can't handle...ahahahah!

I don't encounter people wanting to race me as often, but there are couple people that feel like challenging my C230?!


Most often is at a street light when I hold down the clutch and put it in first gear, and the car kinda roll backwards for like 1second....and as soon as people see I have a stickshift......they want to race?

*Chrysler Crossfire (Non SRT-6) Not that fast at all
*Modded 99-00ish Civic Si (0~80MPH) beat him by 4 car lengths....I think he let off after 4th gear otherwise would have been closer.
*VW Passat
*VW Corrado (Passat and Corrado, I think they were friends traveling together on the highway......they were tailgating me, or kind of looking at my weird when they are beside me, I was at the right-lane going 70MPH and just doing my thing. After 3min, I had enough of them riding next to me, I drop it from 6th to 4th and got up to 110MPH....they seem to follow, but were afraid to go up to triple digit speed.

Conclusion, this car's sporty style is going to get in me in trouble.....(I'm sure its 80% the AMG style body kit thats doing it!)
