has anyone tried to cut open a gap in the back seat behind the arm rest so to give access to the trunk where one can put skis snowboard what ever u like?

I think there is a thread here, about retrofitting fold-down rear seats.
Rather than "cutting", it might be better to just get the whole new foldable seat, with the SKI-Pass feature.
