Alcantara headliner - black vs grey ?
I found a company here in Denver who quoted me $500 for a full assembly of alcantara headliner. Now, I'm battling between grey or black. My stock headliner is grey. I feel that black headliner tends to make the interior feel smaller. True ?Has anyone ever done this ? TIA for your comments.

2005 230 Sport Sedan, Brilliant Silver, 6 Spd, Heated Seats, Sunroof, CDC, Flat Emblem, Clear Sides,
I am curious about this myself. I wished that the C230 SS came with an optional black headliner. I really like that BMW & VW offer this is their sport models. Please let me know how you make out, and post pics when you have a chance. Personally, I would go with the black. Do they offer this is suede?

Do you mean real suede ? I've never heard of it. Alcantara is an Italian "artificial" suede for headliners. I'm pretty sure I want Alcantara headliner, it's just the color that I'm not sure of.

yea dude im in miami ive been quoted 460 for doing it in the faux suede, the one everyone gets and i wanted to do the black but the guy said he wouldnt be able to wrap the "oh sht" bars and the visors, the plastic on the sunroof and any other plastic. i then found out the plastic doesnt hold the paint well. does anyone know if MB makes black headliner parts for other class models and maybe i can retrofit missing parts?
let me know what you end up doing.

fazooley had his e500 done and was originally going to get black but after some thinking decided to go with a grey shade. the shop was able to wrap his visors but if he went with black they were either going to have to try and source out black oh **** bars, center light surround, trim pieces etc or dye them or just leave them the grey color and let it contrast with the black headliner. came out real nice and when you sit in the car it looks and feels nice.

I was just wondering about that.. looks like my guy didn't notice the c pillar in the back. For sure he wouldnt be able to wrap the o-sht bars. I didn't know whether it would still look funny to have grey alcantara nex to grey stock fabric or not. Thanks for the pics !
I was a little bummed out until i saw those pics.
Now, the next thing is.. alcantara seat inserts. I'm thinking to change my burgundy seat inserts to dark grey alcantara with sunken "AMG" metal emblem (see pic). Again, has anyone ever done this ? Just curious about any problems that I might encounter. Thanks.
