Slight steering wheel rattle when quickly rocking the steering wheel back & forth
I think i've always had this, but just seemed to have noticed it more recently. Does anybody else's steering wheel rattle when they rock it in both directions back and forth? Seems to also have the same feeling when going over certain rough pavement....it gives it slight rattling feedback through the steering wheel. If this isn't normal, maybe a bushing or steering component needs to be looked at? Doesn't seem to happen everytime I turn the wheel, mostly when I rock it side to side quickly.
I did a search on steering rattle and found one thread. Things mentioned were control arm bushings (which I remember were changed last time because they were worn and causing creaking noise in front suspension), Z shape mechanism for telescoping/tilting steering wheel (solved if bring steering wheel back, didn't work for me).

My CLK had this problem. Acted like the wheel had some play on the shaft. I forget what it turned out to be but it took 2 trips to the shop to fix. Something lower in the steering like tie rods.
