I can't wait to see the pictures. I ordered the kit today my 05 C230 SS. It will be $470 installed. How difficult will it be to install myself?

remove vents, switch row, a/c controls, shifter panel, ashtray, comand, right side glove box cover. Route harness, mount control unit, and run ipod cable to inside glove box.

Here's a couple of pictures of the factory Ipod integration kit installed. Unfortunately my dealer knicked up the vinyl on both sides of my center console and scratch & bent the top of the climate contol. Replacement parts are on order.

I agree, they really made a pigs ear of the install. I have to commend you on how calm you seem to be about it, I am not sure I would be so calm. Perhaps you weren't when you saw it at the dealership. Good luck in getting it fixed.

I honestly dont see what the big deal is! Thats just a dash piece that they are replacing, when the new one comes in it willbe fixed in like 10 minutes. As long as he doesnt have to pay for it. I mean dont get me wrong, it sucks they screwed up, but as long as they are going to fix it, and have it look right than fine! Its not like they dinged up a door and now he has to worry about paint matching and waves in the sheet metal.

Deal is, that benz shouldnt have those flaws... The guy pays $100-200 install (? dont know price) and gets that. Thats very wanna-be cheap audio shop move there, to mess up his dash. But what can you do.

I doubt that any tech at MB has such a limitted knowledge of their products that (s)he is trying to force panels out by prying with a screwdriver.

I was really upset when I saw what they did. I could not believe the level of incompetence shown by the dealership. They are ordering a new center console and climate control panel. This is not the quality of service that I expect from Mercedes-Benz! I'm nervous about letting them replace the center console and climate control panel - they couldn't get the radio out without damaging the car. A friend had a similar problem with his nissan. The cut his dash while trying to eliminate a rattle. They had to replace his dash and now it rattles worse.

Thumbs up

Just got my Ipod interface kit installed by Steve yesterday. He did a wonderful job. He even activated the chirp sound when locking and unlocking the doors without removing the panic sound for free.

Hey sunman i noticed you have an 03, how are you hooking the ipod interface up? I thought it only applies to the 05's. Though we the tons of mods you've done, i'm pretty sure you thought a way up.

SUNMAN's car may be an '03, but he has gutted the old D2B system and completely replaced it with a MOST system. Now he can do anything the '05's + can do and more.....

he's got a whole thread on this, and all the pictures are on his web site.
