Tinted Windows W203 Thread - All You want to know about window tinting a C Class

I'd be pretty mad. If they don't offer you anything to make you happy, then they suck, lol. They should have made it a lot closer to the edge. Did you get moleskin? If not put some on to make sure they don't scratch.

That is pretty normal to have a tint job done like that. That is what mine looks like cept maybe a lil bit closer. I had it all the way to the edge at first but then it gets caught in the window lining and starts peeling a bit. I'd say keep it that way unless you can still see it if the window is rolled all the up. You probably can't so then it wouldn't be an issue.

Well they should do a re-tint. The place that i got my tints from gives out a lifetime warranty as long as i own the car and i have the receipt because of the tint co. . I had to re-tint last year because i didnt put moleskin.

I did get the lifetime warranty, but the manager said it does'nt cover the front two windows, because I signed a waiver for the issue of being Illegal in California. He said I have 30 day warrenty on the work so I am hoping the can fix it.

Hmm...
I have the factory blue tint on my C230. I THINK I have a gap between the edge of the window and the tint as well. I have to double check. I noticed it when I realized that the windows don't go ALL the way down. A fraction of the window stays up...

Depends on the tint place. Some places leave a lil bit of space from the edge of the window. Did they also line the window with moleskin or some kind of protectant between the window and the rubber molding? Scratching of the tint is common in MB cause of the way the windows are so tight against the rubber molding. This has been covered before in past threads.

Don't worry about it. I know A LOT of cars are like that. It just depends on the tinter's style. It won't affect the looks of the car either since it won't be visible when the window is shut all the way. Also, this way, there is a less chance of peeling. I've been there already.

if you take it back now to be redone- you will most likely be taking it back later for peeling

dude that is a tint line for your window, that section is going to get the most abuse from your trim, thus him cutting the line lower to prevent that.
Looks fine IMO, as long as the line is str8.

sorry that a lot of you find it normal and acceptable to have such a poor tint install and can even justify it by saying that it'll help prevent tint peeling? i feel like im one of few here who knows what professionally installed tint looks like, and i paid a lot less than TINTPROS charges and i get the lifetime warrantee too?

If they did it correctly it would go very near the edge and they would put it on well enough that it wouldn't peel off after putting the window down over and over.
I say if they will re-do it for free, then do it.

So i had my windows tinted last week, and when I rolled my windows down today, I noticed there is a gap or space between the top of the window and tint. I thought its suppose to go all the way up? At least on all my other cars ive had tented, it went to the top. I took it by there this afternoon and they told me every tenter they had there does it different. Should I have them redo all the windows, Or am I being to picky? Here is the pic. Its kind of hard to see. Sorry!

i had mine done a month ago and they did the same thing as far as i understand that is normal procedure. correct me if i am wrong but the merc windows are done in a way that if you were to tint all the way to the top it would start to peel back very soon hence the reason why they cut it a bit shorter so it lasts your lifetime warranty.
hope it helps.
