ok so i I want to tint my mercedes and have called some shops around san antonio. They can do 30% on windows and limo on back for $199 with warranty. I'm not sure that'll be dark enough so i was thinking maybe 20%? A guy told me he could come to my house and do however dark I want for $115 with verbal warranty. What are your opinions on what I should do or if there is a good shop in san antonio

i had limo (5% i think) on all windows and 20% on my driverside window in my 350z and i could see out of them just fine...it helped alot with heat especially in florida! plus the 350z (being a hatchback) had a huge rear window that let in a lot of light... similar to the coupe i presume

Thats an inexpensive update.
I can get you the pn's if you need 'em.

It's really not hard to install the Tint Protector moleskin kit. I recommend doing it after your windows are tinted. The solvents the tint shops use can break down the glue in the felt.
Get the kit. It's easy.

so I went to the local MB stealer and I asked them about the tinting of the windows and scratches that arise from it. The guy at the parts dept showed me the window trim and it had felt on both sides. For those that have had problems with scratching, is it because certain MY's didn't come with the felt or the felt that they have on there deteriorates quickly?

2002-2007 c class sedan's did not come with felt on the inside of the window canal.
You HAVE to install the Moleskin Felt on the inside of the weather strip or your tint will scratch. PERIOD.
Search for Tint Protector on google. They will tell you all about it.

I had my windows tinted about 3 months ago and decided to tint the front with the same tint Solargard 52% and it looks like the fronts don't have the same blue hue as the rest of the car so it looks off from the inside. Anyone know of any tint that has a blue hue to it that I can put in the fronts?

I hate the bluish effect on my tint (f1 pinnacle 35%) because of the blue dye on the windows. It looks like it's fading and cheap. Also, anyone have the same issues of having a "milky look" inside specially when the sun hits your window? (windows has been tinted for 3 weeks now and has been baked under the sun.)

MBcollector,
The scratches take some time to form. I would MOST DEFINITELY buy the Tint Protector kit NOW. Once the scratches start to show it's too late and there's no going back. Your tint is ruined.
I don't know of anyone with a C class and tint that doesn't have crazy streaks that look just like the picture above. Trust me, you will regret the decision not to put the kit on.

+1 on the tintprotector..I installed mine after having my windows tinted so the chemicals used in installing the tint wont affect the moleskin adhesive. Although, tint shops guarantee their tints from scratching, its still a pain in the _ss to bring your car back to get it re-tinted and baking it under the sun.
@rollnnn : go with the best tint (Huper optik or F1 Pinnacle). My friend's IS250 has Huper Optik 35% on his windows and it has a brownish color on it so I dont know how the color will blend in to your blue dyed windows. I have f1 pinnacle and it has a blackish effect but turns into purple when the sun hits it because of the blue dyed window.
high quality tints also will protect your interior from the damaging rays from the sun, added protection for your skin (and your interior) is always good right? I also compared my window and my windshield by touching the glass and you can definitely tell the difference of the heat rejection.
Huper Optik and f1 pinnacle are ceramic based.
Solar guard is carbon based.
Ceramics and carbons dont interfere with GPS, cellphones and radar detectors.

I see that the tint protector guys ship globally but are then any other South Africans on here that know of a local solution? $ exchange rate tends to hurt the wallet on this side of the world.
