mine were darker than 50%.. i have 35% in the front windows and 20 in the rear.. so it is somewhat dark and on that $#@%$ day... it was really gloomy.. so it made it look even darker...

Go to www.latint.com with locations in Alexandria, etc. They only do tint use www.formulaone.com films and take the tint all the way to the windows edge - no tint gap. Opt for the replacement warranty and get free replacements for normal things like scratches.

Window Tinting
I am considering getting my windows tinted on my coupe.
But I have heard from some tint shops that the tint could affect my radio reception? Is this true? If so what kind of tint should I have installed?

Some people have had problems with metallic tints, but others haven't. HuperOptik makes a "ceramic" tint which is not supposed to effect radio reception. It is not cheap, however.

I have metallic tint and i don't have any problems with the reception... i did have the problem where if I turned on my rear defroster, the radio reception would suck...
the other thing you can do is ask the tint shop what they will do if the reception does change ones the tint is on... they may already have a plan...

Tint/Window problem
I have the HuperOptik tint on my 6 month old car, and it was just redone because of scratches. I didn't open the windows for two weeks; today I did and they got scratched again. Does anyone else have this problem (with whatever tint)? I called the dealer; they said bring it in and they will do whatever it needs to get it fixed. I really don't want anybody fooling with my windows and doors but I think that's what they'll have to do. Help?

This is a known problem. There are steel guides in the doors that rub against the window. Some have bent them, some have covered them in a fuzzy material (probably the kind that comes in a velcro kit using the soft side).

Pass the vaseline, Fuzzo, I paid $200, also.
In Dallas, most places have three grades of tint: Base (died) about $175 (will fade in 4-5 yrs), midgrade (80-90% metallic, non-died-won't fade) about $200, and premium grade (full metallic, longer warranty) for around $225-$250.
Prices are for four side windows and rear window.

Many of them give lifetime warranties but keep in mind the following...
1. You still pay for labor to get the old tint OFF and then put the new tint ON
2. Purple-ing is not under some of the warranties
3. Most of these shops are pretty fly by night operations so dont expect them to be around 2 years later when your tint denatures and bubbles up.
4. If you use Amonia based windex or spray cleaner ... expect any tint to purple.
Just some advice from my experience with it.... Dont use 3m Panther black... its crap.

nah they just put the film on (precut) with soapy water and a squeegy.... its like wallpaper ... then they use a hair dryer to form some peices if you have a big rear window that is curved

honestly I have never had to collect on the warranty.... i have already sold my car and my friend said that carmax had removed my tint...*******s....

i live in miami... $120 installed, lifetime guarantee for anything including purpleing, bubbling, scratching, one piece all windows, including the front window, titanium tint sheet, 35% winshield and 5% the rest of the windows
