CD Changer Install "Programming"
Hi:
I have a 2000 SLK 230 and purchased a aftermarket CD Changer made for MB for my car and want to install it. I've heard it needs to be "programmed" with a laptop in order to work with the MB radio in the car? Is that true? If so, why does MB make it so difficult and painful?

It doesn't need to be programmed immediately. It will work for a while (I've heard 2-3 months) and then stop. This is because it throws a problem code and when it reaches a threshold it stops working. Install it yourself and wait until you have to bring it in for something and then they might do it for free.
