2005 C230 sedan used car prices
Considering selling my car again
Anyone know of an online source for determining the value of an '05 C230 sedan? KBB and NADA have nothing
A car in Atlanta, VERY similar to mine, recently sold for over $29K on eBay
I had good luck selling my old 240SX on eBay back in January

A couple of options:
www.edmunds.com
In little type under the Used Cars area there is a link called "Appraise a Car".
has 2005 C-class prices listed now. It's showing a higher price than is legit though. I got an offer from a dealer for a brand-new one at the price edmunds was quoting.
Even better is to sign-up to their forums then go to "Smart-Shopper->Real World Trade-In Values" and post a message with a thorough description of the car and asking what it is worth retail, private party and trade in. Make sure you give all the options, and especially the location and condition.
A guy named Terry will appraise it for you. He's awefully busy and doesn't screw around if you don't post a full description, and you may have to ask a couple of times, but stay (nicely) after him, and he'll appraise it for you.
Why should you care what Terry thinks? Because he owns about numerous dealerships across the country and buys and sells hundreds of used cars a year. He has access to the auction reports and all that stuff. He really knows his stuff.
Personally, given that a nicely equipped (premium sound and sunroof package) 2005 C230WZ sells brand-new for less than $31K, you're looking at around $28K at the most. Of course, there are plenty of idiots on ebay, so maybe you can con someone into paying more.

My mistake. I switched them. It should be:
Edmunds prices it at $24,657 dealer trade, $26,058 private party, $28,757 dealer retail.
I'm going to edit the above message to fix it too.
Those prices are also without tax, title and license, so you'd have to add for those.
