Hi everyone,
I have a brand new US version COMAND 2.0 for W203 C-Class (2001 and up). It comes with a GPS antenna and wires. I got the unit from a friend in the dealership a while back but never got a chance to install it in my car, but now i'm in a bit of a slump so i'm gonna have to let it go. I got it for $3000.00 and i'm asking for $2500.00 but i'll take the best offer, so please if any of you guys are interested but the price is too steep make an offer anyway. I don't have a pic right now but if you really want one i'll see if i can borrow a friend's dig cam. I'm located in the bay area if that would help. I read Comand II was delayed until later in the 03 year. I heard its not even available yet in the new E class cars.

But you have one ? this is the DVD based unit ?

 

Comand 2.0 is the current one in CLK/E/C etc. Its called 2.0 because its 2 din units high. Comand 2.5 is the one in the S/CL and has a tape player in it. Its 2.5 din units high.

I think they call the new DVD comand "comand aps"

people have mentioned the NAV part is out dated ?

Does the unit have a part number, would you mind
sharing it ?

Hi

Fitting COMAND to a non-COMAND *USA* W203 car is quite easy, you need to modifty the wiring loom, or make up an adapter loom, all of which parts can be ordered from MB dealer for a few dollars.

All the arial wiring is there, Im in UK and helped Mr Yukpo (search for his posts) do this and it works nicely.

You then need to have the dealer enable the nav screens on the cluster and configure the D2B ring order and "coding" for the COMAND (which is prettyu quick) using Star diagnosis

At some point i'll make up a list of the parts for everyone to see
