2005 C Wagon (No snickering please!)
The kit contains the receiver, a bracket to mount the receiver, the antenna, the hardware to attach both, a fuse, a handy pocket guide for stations on Sirius, a loop of wire to connect the two pre-installed antenna lines to the receiver, and a template or two that allows accurate positioning of the hole to mount the antenna. The kit also "includes" a fourteen month subscription to Sirius.
What is not in the box are installation instructions, and version coding of the car to tell the computers that Sirius is present.
Your car being a 2005 has a fiber optic system called MOST. This has to be connected to the Sirius receiver. The car is pre-wired, but the connections are different if your car has premium (Harmon-Kardon) sound, or Tele-Aid, or telephone. You can have any combination of these devices, but the MOST fiber optic cables must be connected in a ring. Someone (usually a dealer, but some independents also) must connect a STAR Diagnostics computer to the car and set the perimeters for the Sirius receiver.
The installation takes about half an hour, and the computer connection about five minutes.
The SIRIUS subscription also allows to listen to the music streams only on the internet.
The Kit retails for $ 699.00, dealer cost is about $ 483.00.
Your parts man should look up the number using your VIN as the numbers have changed.
