Just bought a 2001 C240 and have a couple questions for you guys..

Hey guys.. I just bought a 2001 C240.. Lots of features. I really like it.

26,000 KM.

A couple of questions.

1) I have Xenon. The lights are they Bi-Xenon or just Xenon for the low beams?

2) Can I get a clear headlight cover? Or does the whole assembly need to be replaced?

3) Is there a front sway bar? The reason is that when driving really slow I hear a creak sound only at slow speeds over gigantic ruts on country roads. No sounds when hitting ruts or bumps at full speed.

4) I want to make sure I have the Bose sound as the dealer said. Is the way to tell by looking in the rear hat tray?

Thanks!

For '01, it should just be regular xenons for lo-beam and halogens for hi-beam.

The clear headlamp design is the entire assembly I believe, so the entire thing needs to be swapped out.

The creaking noise is most likely sway bar bushings need to be replaced.

The speaker covers on the doors should say "Bose" on them.

GDawgC220 is correct on the first two points. The creaking noise is the sway bar bushings and tie rod thrust bushings. You won't find "BOSE" on the doors. But it will be on the package shelf speaker, if Bose equipped.

I thought there were "Bose" logos on the speaker covers on the doors. I guess I just recalled what was on our w220, which have the logos on the speaker covers and thought it was the same on all cars equipped with Bose.

I just visually checked my C320 and no labels on the door speakers. Rear deck Sub woofer, YES.

Labels on the doors would catch on pant legs, dresses, etc.

Thanks for the info guys.

I noticed that Steve is selling a new 2005 grill, any idea if that will fit my 2001? Thanks..
