short throw shifter

hello,

I have a question for everybody. I have a 2001 c240 with 6-speed manual transmission. I think the shifts are too long in this car and want a short-throw shifter, but no one makes one for my car. i came across a new type of shifter that twm makes. Here is a link: http://www.twmshiftknobs.com/column/index.html

do you guys think that this will be worth it, or should I just suck it up and leave the stock shifter?

also, if anyone knows of a short throw shifter for a 2001 c240 6speed, please tell me.

Thanks

sean

The Evolution or C7 coupes had short shifters. The tranny is the same. It should bolt right in.

if the old w203 2003 and below are

* 1 3 5
R 2 4 6

and the new ones 2005 - present are

R 1 3 5
* 2 4 6

is the shifter going to work for the older ones?

yea, I thought that the new transmission (short-throw) couldn't be used with the old 6 speed that I have.

Don't confuse the issue. The short throw C7/evo shifter is from 2002-2004. Same as the 'old' tranny you have.

The new tranny isn't that new . Its just a single rod shifter, and a new shifter barrel.
