My local MB dealer says that the DVD Navigation disk for the 2005 DVD Command is about $500 . Is that true? There must be a better price to be had out there. Is it possible to get a copied DVD or is it write protected?

Copied disks jam in the drive and often ruin them. You are stuck grabbing your ankles and going to the dealer.

 

Check Ebay, they get nav disks now and then. I sold many nav CDs there in the past. I don't think you are anymore at risk with a copy or the real thing.

 

Copies of the CD-ROM based ones are ok. It is the copies of the DVD ones that are a problem.
