New here, with new car today!
Hello all,
My name's Alan, and in less than 2 hours I'll be the new owner of a 2006 C230! Got the call this morning that it was being unloaded from the truck, and it's now just time to wrap up some paperwork and bring her home.
I watched my 1998 BMW 323ic drive away last night with its new owners, which was a little sad. It was a great car. I'm thinking this evenings delivery will soften the blow considerably.
I'm a big car nut, and daily drive a 2004 Explorer (company car) and have a supercharged 1992 5.0 Mustang as my weekend toy.
Really excited about the new car, and I'll post up some pics when she's all mine.

Congrats.. welcome to the forum, and MB. The C is a great car, and build to the same quality standards as the S, or any other class. I believe it's built in Germany.

Thanks to all for the warm welcomes!
Well, it's official, I have an Iridium Silver C230 in my garage for its first night in its new home. And can I say, HOT DAMN it is a sexy car!
Mercedes of Memphis was great, and the sales guy gave a demo (2 hrs!) that I thought would never end. I'm a real car nut, and I was starting think "ok ok, I just wanna drive now!"
I'll be right at home here if pic whoring is the norm.
Mods? Doubtful for a while. This will be my wife's daily driver. My mustang is the mod junkie. But...
One thing I will definitely do is experiment with making some parts for it. I own a business that sells custom pillar gauge pods for the mustangs. One-off and low production CNC parts are also something I do. Ideas will flow once I spend some time in this car, and hopefully with your feedback I can come up with some cool stuff for you guys. To see examples of my work, just check my website out www.speedofsoundllc.com (mods, hope this ok, delete if not)
Pics tomorrow when I have some good light. Thanks again for the welcomes.

My company is a second job for me, as I design high-end home electronic systems by day. The pillar pods have enabled me to assemble a nice shop with the ability to make some trick stuff.
If I had to pick, I think my first project would be to make my own set of illuminated door sills, perhaps with my logo in them (glowing in blue like OEM). Honestly, I think this would be a pretty easy part to make and could be done with any type of text/graphic in place of the MB script provided with the dealer option. Just an idea as my mind winds down from the day...

Wouldn't waste my time it if it couldn't look like it came out the factory. This will certainly prove to be more challenging than with a mustang. But it can be done for sure.
I'm going to enjoy my seat time, and see what ideas pop up.
What's something you'd like to see in the C class, but can't buy? I'm too new to know, frankly. I've really enjoyed looking at some of the modded cars on here already. There's an all-black sedan in the pic thread with the Brabus kit on it that is beautiful.

Thanks to the new welcomes!
I'm going to head out and see if I can find a good spot for some night time pics. I'm just dying to photograph the car (and this means I get to drive it too!).
My wife is thrilled with it. Can't wipe the smile from her face. Can't put a price on that, ever.
Pics on the way after my little "adventure"

Sorry for the double post. Just got back from snapping some pics, and while they looked fine on the camera, I found they were pretty quality when blown up on my PC.
Anways, here's one that came out ok:

On the subject of silver, thought I share a pic I snapped when I was placing the order for my car a few weeks ago. This car belongs to a client of mine, and sheer coincidence put me at the dealer when he was taking delivery.
He told me he put the deposit down in 1999!
Classic MB color, no doubt:
