worst car you've ever driven

Any one of the fleet rental cars from the 80's: Tempo/Topaz, Cavalier/Sunbird, Valiant/Reliant/Omni.
They all had the cheapest plastic crap interior, an engine that came from the Sears & Roebuck Garden Center, and handled like a Conestoga wagon.
The joy of driving one of these things for 1000+ miles in a week was indescribable. Chiropractic visits were mandatory after as little as 2 hours in the damn things. . . .

Worst "new" car = 2003 Jaguar X-type 3.0 AWD. Uncomfortable ride, questionable interior design aesthetic (i.e. - Ford parts in a "luxury" sedan), and didn't know what the hell to do with four wheel traction at all, other than to pull you towards the outside on a turn
Worst "used/badly maintained" car = 2000 Mustang GT convertible w/short throw. Damn thing made more noise than the space shuttle, but you'd look at the dial and notice you were only going 50 mph. Short throw was worthless, clutch engaged basically when you let go of the pedal completely , and it didn't help that I blew out a tire at 60 mph on the freeway 'cause the owner didn't notice low tire pressure on his tires (admittedly, I didn't see it either, though in my defense the garage was quite dark ). Thankfully the blowout didn't fishtail us, and I pulled the side and popped in the spare. Not driving that thing again.

old thread revival FTW...now we know newbies take their time to search
worst old car ever driven: 80 something Ford POS...i mean Crown Victoria.
worst new car ever driven: Pontiac G6 V6. cheap interior, overboosted power steering, brake pedal's too high, slow *** throttle response, ride is harsh yet it handles like crap, smell of the interior plastic will make you sick eventually, etc.

I'd have to disagree with this as of late! I've seen some recent threads started by newbies with the answer still on the 1st page!
Anyways, I think the worst car I've ever driven is a teal dodge neon. What a death trap those are.

Worst cars ever driven ... Chevy Corsica ... they were brand new and were by far the worst cars I ever drove. It was a company car on a job I had while I was still in college. Next would be Chevy Blazer with the 2.8L. When my wife and I got married she was driving a Cadillac Cimeron (Chevy) ...
I was given a 2007 Chevy Malibu as a rental when I took one of my cars in for repair. It was like being time warped back 20 years to the Corsica.
I have not owned a GM product since 1991 and have yet taken a step into a GM showroom since 1991.
Renault Le Car was the worst car I have ever ever been a passenger. Actually rode to NYC in that thing...

my friend's auto S13 coupe. speedometer was broken and car wouldn't shift out of second gear. The roads in Irvine are around 50-55 mph, so I was holding up traffic and speedometer couldn't even tell me how slow I was going. Oh. and I got to class late.

We've had a couple of em...
My dad bought an Eagle Talon Something Chrysler, I don't even know what the name of it was. Whatever it was, it was wine, automatic....
Had some fun times with it:
1) Coming up to a Red Light for some reason I pull the e-brake. The car starts swaying side to side, fishtails, and finally comes to a stop right before the light...People look over at me hahah I don't know what came over me...
2) Leaving the mall one night I felt the car driving weird, so I stop and realize I have a flat tire. I go to this gas station where they have air, and call up my sis and 2 friends to come back...So they turn around, and return...
I put air in the tire, and keep putting air, keep putting air, and all of a sudden POW!!! The tire blows up right in my face! With lightning speed I get up and jump, all while I blurt out "OH SH**!"
And of course my friends just laugh their socks off at me...haha...
We also had this Subaru that had turbo. It was "gangsta", tinted windows, we even got puller over at NIGHT for having "tints too dark"...
In that car the heater was controlled by a light switch, seriously lol...Like the light switch you'd have in your room lol...
Ah, good times...

Owning a shop that works on large fullsize 4x4s, and high-end sports cars, I have seen just about it all..
Worst Cars:
1. A totally rigged 1996 Ford F250 4x4 on 40s, we put an AAL in the rear of the truck because the aluminum block he put in was smooched. We took it out for a ride to check everything, and we turn it on, starter grinds, we let off the clutch and its jumping all over the place, and there is hardly any fluid in it. Customer doesnt care..lol, pays and leaves, 6 months later (1 week ago) power stearing went out, and the power stearing is linked to the brake system, so he couldnt stop, head on into a tree, totalled.
2. 96 dodge neon with 100k.. You do the math. (ex Gfs)
3. 99 dodge durango with all bad tires/ball-joints/hubs/tre's/plugs/fuel injection/stearing, I swear the oil was changed maybe once in 100k. (Mother in laws) We fixed it though, she did get it for free though..
4. 98 dodge viper with 100,000+ hard miles which it was brutaly not taken care of.. You guys just wouldnt belive the mess of this thing, and how bad the oil/tranny fluid, and clutch was.. We ended up doing a tranny/clutch/throw-out bearing in it.. Syncros were shot.

2002 LADA 2107 - 5-speed manual in green.
1996 Dodge Neon - 5-speed, no radio, no alarm, roll down windows, no tachometer.
Come to think of it, not sure which one was worse than the other. Lada at least cost at that time $2300 brand new

1998 Peugeot 106 diesel. no option.
steering during parallel park what a pita.
uphill .... LOL ... the cars behind thought I slowed down...(foot still on the floor).
1992 civic hatch.
steering is worse than 106 but the engine feels slightly better.
the car is a shaking machine: bad maintenance?

I used to work at a used car lot many moons ago, I drove a variety of cars, but my worst one would have to be a 1970's faded tan AMC Pacer, I had to drive that POS from San Francisco to the lot in Central Calif.!!

The "date machine" during high school (um, not quite). My first vehicle--a standard green '73 Jeep Commando. You can imagine the problems, not only socially but when traveling at max speed of 65 using a 3 speed requiring double clutch, then braking with one working right front drum...and no wipers...and no girlfriend, and yes it was one of those vehicles where the horn would go off around corners...
