How much for "B" service???

Coming up on "B" service already and was quoted $450.00. Seems awful high Not sure if any of you have had "B" service on your 05' yet but looking for your quoted "B" service...the only dealers in my area charge the same so I'm really left with no choice......$800 in just over a year really sux, my wife's Bimmer $0 in 4 years and yeah she's drillin' me now for buying the MB........

Whatever they charge.....

...it's too much for what gets done. Have an independent do it if you're not handy enough or inclined to change your own oil. The only difference between A and B services of any consequence is changing wiper inserts and the cabin filter. The rest is all visual stuff and the fluids, motor, transmission, and braking systems are already monitored with sensors anyway. They are "supposed" to check and measure brake pads for wear but even that is suspect. I once had a B service performed (free up to 50K miles for my year!) and they stated X mm or 25% brake pads remaining in front when I had replaced them two weeks prior!

I have always heard that it is around $250 for service A. The cost for service B at Star Motors here in Houston was around $450.

This is way to god damn much, going straight broke. ahhhh.

Based on what you posted I would say you got one h3ll of a deal if they include all that brake work.

Agree....I don't think you're getting a B service plus all that work for $533. Did you already replace the front brake pads once (just curious)?

I agree, ok deal IF the brakes are included but this is what I'm afraid of: Take car in for "B" service ($450) then they find more things that need to be replacead i.e. brakes ect...who knows how much it could end up being

I thought Service B at House of Imports was expensive, but I guess not. Their Service B is $ 339.95. If you show a AAA card, the cashier lops off 10%.

My service "A" was free. Parkplace Motorcars in Dallas did it. They also do "free" oil changes inbetween the scheduled services. Great place for freebies. ALong with the free oil changes they do free carwas anytime you want one, just drive it up and they will wash it vacume do the windows and tires.

Who is your SA? I think I need to switch...I'm coming up on my service A quick and I thought I had to pay for it.

I think that only applies to cars purchased at Parkplace.

Yeah, I purchased my car from Park Place.
However, I don't think he got the service A done for free. Seeing that he just got an 06 C, he was probably talking about the check up between 1k and 3k...unless he drives more than I do...

Yeah I was mistaken I see that service A is not until 13,000 miles, and I only have 3k miles. I got the first chekin service 1k-3k. My SA is Dwayne Gandy. He is very nice guy, and the assistant service manager. I will be going in tomorrow for a car wash, maybe I will see ya up there!

p.s. if anyone in the DFW area is interested in getting Steve of mbenznl.com to do any mod's he will be here on the 22nd of October. PM me or email me at quentyns@yahoo.com and maybe we can have a small meet and greet while we get our cars moded. I am looking to get a EURO W203 DVD COMAND Nav system. Maybe we can get a group buy going or something.

holy sheeite!! Took mine to get the SRS warning fixture. Dealer gives me new service brochure...$349.00 service A, $699 Service B. $oil/filter change for synthetic, $130.00

On top of that, they were trying to push the $150 fuel injection service on me.

They did the same quote for me ($150 fuel injection service) when I tried to see what they were going to offer me for my break malfunction code???? They estimated me $310 for replacement of front pads alone. I declined service, replaced pads on my own with the help of another thread from fellow mbworld member in regards to 02komp brake pad replacment. Only difference was (if I read correctly) 03 komp has one sensor on front right for pad wear and left front sensor for rotor wear.

Going back to topic I swear I thought I just got my service "B" done which was covered in warranty. No out of pocket costs. Just don't quote me on this I guess I have to dig up my emails/invoices from service dealer to confirm when I get home later tonight...

When you buy your car new, you can pay for the A/B services, tire rotation, and wiper blades up front. I think MB offered this to match up with BMW.

That clears it up a bit. I never knew that. I purchased mine from my brother he mentioned the warranty. I noticed that they do change my wipers most of the time I visit the service dealer.

So this could be the reason I got my service b with no out of pocket costs....

My apologies for the newbiness of my posts...

That is untill your 330 needs new control arm bushings at 45K miles and they tell you it's cheaper (but never cheap!) to get new control arms.

Just keep up with your oil changes and check the fluids every now & then. Those service scheldules are a joke. All they are is glorified oil changes. I can believe they include resetting FSS indicator as part of what is included. I have had BMW's as well. Same deal. These German cars are not weak cars they can handle more then the stealerships lead you to believe.

Bump - I was quoted (today, 12/20/05):

$185 for Service A
-and-
$320 for Service B

Mine seems to be the lowest, are there hidden costs?
