Uneven Rear Camber?!?!

Hey Guys,

So, I'm confused and frustrated. After putting my 19's on (19X8.5 & 19X9.5) with 235/35-19 and 265/30-19, I've been playing for the last several weeks with my coilovers, to try to get the right setting.

I've noticed that the camber in the rear is much more negative on the drivers side then the passenger side. Also, the driver side is .25 of an inch lower then the passenger side. That makes no sense....it should be the other way around, should it not? I have taken very accurate measurements to ensure the CO's are adjusted exactly the same, side to side.

More frustrating, I'm rubbing in the rear on the side that has the less negative camber even though it has more clearance. Has anyone else noticed this side-to-side difference? My car has a 1 finger gap in the rear...I suppose I could raise it some more, but many of you have your cars much lower. How do you not rub?

Thanks for any help.

Andrei

well i had the same problem about 2 weeks ago. mine was not even lowered. you might need to roll your fenders and shave some plastic on the driver side. what is the offset on the rims you bought? try doing a search on rubbing on the rear. a lot of people have had this problem. goodluck

well technically every time you adjust the coilovers you have to get an alignment to spread the wear. also check if the coilover is an even height on each side.

Thank you!

Thanks for the replies guys.

After adjusting the rear's 5-6 times and totally wanting to lose my mind, I had the simple idea of swapping the rims side to side. As it turns out, now the other side was rubbing instead! I finally looked at the offset of the rims, taking for granted that both should be the same, and one was 35 and one was 38!!! The 38 is what I need and what doesn't rub.

Jeez, I wasted two days, shaved and rolled the fenders, all for a stupid moron that can't send me two identical wheels. (I guess I'm a bigger moron for not checking too!!)

Thanks for the help & moral support everyone.

Take care,

Andrei
