Lowering of price?
It seems like the pricing for the C230 K is staying pretty constant.
But the 2003 C240 Sedan (code: C240W) is only $24,900? The 2002 C240 is $30,550 MSRP. That's about $5000 cheaper, and the same cost as the C230 K. It's not standard Mercedes practice to reduce prices by that much - the last time was in 1993-94.
But another post it was said that the MY '03 brochure indicated that features such as Tele-Aid and auto-dimming mirrors are now optional, and 6-speed manual transmissions are standard across the line (sans the C32 AMG). And leather upholstery wasn't even listed as an option.
The "C240 S" which is the C240 Wagon at $31,400 has never been offered. The C320 Wagon was introduced for 2002. Is the C240 Wagon a new model for 2003?
Can another source confirm these prices/pricing? And what about the C320 Sedan and Wagon? Even if the C320 pricing stays constant, a $5000 discount on the base price for the C240 is rare for a Mercedes model. Perhaps Mercedes is trying to become more competitive with BMW pricing.
