Where do I put the plastic tube for the car battery?

I have a 2002 C240 and the battery just died. I just replaced it, but now I'm stuck with a plastic tube, about the size of a straw (for "venting"?) and I'm not sure where it goes. I already have it connected to the new battery but where does it connect on the car itself? Help please?

I don't believe it 'connects' anywhere but is inserted in a hole just beneath where it falls. (Car isn't here now so can't go look). This hole will direct any venting beneath the car. Don't pinch the tube or block its' opening.

Got it. I'll just let it "dangle". Thanks!
