Is lowering worth it?

I've learned that stock struts just aren't designed to handle the extra stress of being lowered. Hopefully, you'll have better luck than I did.
I attribute it to the following:
1) 2002 Mercedes CLK 430 struts are of better engineering and performance than 1992 Honda Civic struts.
2) Authentic Brabus springs. I am here in SoCal and Brabus NA is not far away. I bit the bullet and bought the springs from them directly and even paid them to install. The quality of these parts speak for themselves.
I also had a 1994 Honda Civic Si with Eibach springs and Tokico Illumina shocks and the ride was still more bumpy than my current set up on my Benz. There's a reason why.

Quite a few lowered MB's look odd. The symmetry of the wheel wells to the wheels is off and instead of looking agressive it looks silly.

Jap lowered cars ride nothing compared to a lowered MB or Audi on CO's or lowered shock/spring combo. Not even close. Trust me I was a rice man myself back in the day.

Also, it would help people if you had this information available in your signature/profile:
1) Model Year (i.e. 2001-2005)?
2) Model Type (230K, 320)?
Please, please, please...for you and ALL NEWBIES, if you really want help, put this information somewhere in your profile or your signature, so that people won't have to ask continuously.
Okay, so getting back to answering your question, if you want a 2 inch drop and you have a sports coupe, good luck finding a company that'll offer a 2 inch drop from the stock sport suspension. It's just not gonna happen. If you drop the car 2 inches from where the sport suspension currently sits, your car will no longer be functional as far as handling is concerned. The closest you could get is coilovers. Check the suspension threads for your options (again, stickied at the top of this forum).

I swore I would never do it either however the more and more I see that gap between the front tire and wheelwell in of my C32 the more it looks just plain wrong to me! I purchased some Vogtlands and am waiting for the snow to melt before I install them. They are comparable to the Renntechs from what I have read and offer a mild drop-more in the front less in the back and thats fine as I think the back looks ok..

Here's my $.02....
I like the looks and feel of lowering springs though I admit that the ride is bumpier an rougher. Since I have raced cars in the past, I understand the reason of being and I enjoy the feedback and response the steering gives you when you have sport springs. I like to drive my cars hard at times and feel what they are able to do (how they handle). I have noticed great improvements in turns, stopping and in instances under acceleration (how....just by launching the car forward quicker)just by replacing OEM springs with high quality sport springs. If I have the money to do it, I will defenitely do it to all my vehicles.
I really like the looks and the performance that a good quality spring would bring to a car.
Again...Just my $.02

Im thinking about lowering my new C230 bc I am getting some 18's or 19's. It looks good like it is now. But when you put rims and tires on that will be 2K plus new suspension wheter its springs or coilovers you must add labor charges so you looking at 1.5K right there or 700 for springs.
