dead radio. help

dead radio. help
hey all. been long time.
yesterday on my way back home from work the radio was working alright. I was able to listen to CDs and everything was fine.
I got home and later in the evening I went out and discovered my radio is not workin. I tried pressing the cd release button and everything else. it wont turn on. I thought maybe by the morning it will work again (thats how its with my car, problems go away the next day).
well, today I still have that problem. I noticed that even after removing the key and locking the car the red security light on the radio wont blink.
I've got Audio 10. Its been acting crazy for years now. but never died on me like this.
what might be the problem? any ideas or thoughts?
one more question... is it possible to get access to its wires from the outside? (whithout unlocking the car)

I just bought a 2002 C240, and the radio just died on me too. 
Stock radio, everything. dunno why tho??? I took it to MB dealer, and warranty coverd it. Picking it back up this afternoon.
Anyone else have this problem?

You can check the obvious, if the fuse for the radio is blown (fuse map is in the fusebox in the trunk). The second most obvious is maybe when you installed the radio you didn't snap the connector in and it worked it's way loose. Lastly, put the cassette radio back in and make sure that the car is OK and if it powers up then use that while you wait for another Audio 10 opportunity.
I don't understand what wires you can get at from outside. If you mean can you get at the radio harness from somewhere other than the behind the radio inside the car, NO. Can you open the hood and cut a wire that may affect power to the radio, possibly.

I can't see why there would be a loose wire. I did not touch any thing. I'll check the fuse in the moning. And about cutting a wire under the hood. I asked cuz I've been suspecting some kids who might have tampred with me car.
by the way, I don't have a casette. the audio 10 came with the car.
