I hate power seats. When I get a C320 loaner it drives me crazy. Everytime I try to get out of the car and set the parking brake the seats move back as I'm trying to push the pedal. I know you can turn the feature off somehow. Also I find it a lot quicker just to move the seat a few notches manually.
On my last car I had manual seats and that was very rare for a Mustang Convertible. When I gave the car to my daughter, she is too short and couldn't get the height she wanted out of manual seats. So I called a salvage yard and got all the parts for $125 and it took me about 2 hours to figure it out and put it all in, switches and all. It's soooo slow compared to manual seats that it bugs me but she loves it so much that she moves the seat all the way back to get out and all the way forward to drive, just like the C320.

To all with power seats...following MB-BOB's directions about resetting the power seats...it deos work. Today, had the car off/key not in the slot; moved the seat to the full back position and held the switch for about 5 sec...then moved the seat forward to the full forward position and help the button there for 5 sec. The first you you go back in the car, the seat does not go back to your original setting - but pushing the button resets the seat to the original position. Removed the key and put it back in several times and the seat went to my original reset position. So this procedure does not clear out your preset memory. Will see if this procedure holds after sitting in the garage overnight. Added plus..the driver side mirror also is reset back to your preset position.

i wanted to get power seat when i just bought my car....but since there was no instance stock, the dealer persuaded me to get one without it. i was glad i listen, because i realised that i will be the only 1 driving it 90% of the time, no point spending 1250 more!
if i have the option for bi-xenon in 2002, i will get it...no question asked....even if i have to wait...so be it!

Power seats are an absolute must and worth the money, even if you are the only driver.
I'm sorry, big-time, I did not order this package. The basic seat design is not truly ergonomic (the seat is too long from butt to knee) and the manual seat controls are finicky. I have been unable to get the seat/steering adjusted to perfection (to get close enough to work the pedals comfortably, I'm too close to the steering wheel) but when I get it as close to "just right" as I can, then there's not enough room for me to easily exit the car, without manually sliding the seat back or tilting the steering wheel up. If I do this, I have to start all over again to get everything adjusted when I get back in the car. Seat memory would solve all of these problems.

I am the only one that drives my car so I don't need the power seats. And getting in and out is so easy for me. And my seats are also cloth.

I'm just too cheap for the power seats
I had powerseats in my previous car, and no one ever touched my car, except sometimes my dad feels like driving it, but we're the exact same height so he doesn't move the seat anyways. I think in Canada we have a driver-side only power-seat option, can anyone confirm this? For another $1000, I'd much rather get the Bi-xenons.

my car isnt in yet, but power seats were a must for me. i have VW now, and those seats are ergonomic, but its the first car in a while i had without pwr seats. to me they are convenient, and a must have. yes it adds complexity to an already complex automoble, but the price justifies the means. i had to have them. just my $.02

The way I figure it is that if I am spending all this money and ordering the car I might as well get what I want. My wife is shorter than me and I like the idea of the seats stored to the key so when my wife gets in the seat is set for her when she puts her key in and visa-versa for me. I am ordering mine soon C230K with C1,C2,C4,C7, Bose, CD Changer, Heated seats, and Auto. Comes to a nice 33K and has everything I want. So as soon as I get my stock check from my old employer the car is getting ordered.

Don't forget that C1 also gives you the passenger side mirror tilt down when in reverse so you can see the curb.
I thought the power seats also had more adjustments but I could be wrong.
