Years ago, i had purchased actual automotive tail light paint at a parts store, had the jeep for about 4 years... color never faded, and i kept the vehicle parked outdoors...

also, I'd clear coat it no matter what paint you use just to stay on the safe side...
I got mine painted at Quigley's auto body in Lake Forest at the same time I got my rear bumper fixed. Matches perfectly and has a clear coat

this is how i removed mine:
i used a cloth (old t-shirt) to covered the screwdriver head.
this will help prevent scratches to the body of your car/side marker.
wedge the screwdriver inbetween the front of the marker where it meets
the front of the car (see picture).
at the same time: push the marker towards the rear and pry/lift up the lense using the screwdriver.
a small clip should be exposed as you continue to lift up.
don't do the process forcefully or too quickly.
