Part next to headlight? Should be a clip...look around a little. Should not be too hard to do.

A box on 4 wheels
Cant be that hard, theres a clip to the left side, you have to lift it up a little and use something to unclip it.

Justin, use hobby shop paint with a clear coat. They have a transparent black color (or something to that effect) that works nicely.

will i need to cote that with a clear coat, or will that be able to withstand the elements?

Years ago, i had purchased actual automotive tail light paint at a parts store, had the jeep for about 4 years... color never faded, and i kept the vehicle parked outdoors...

good to see that you're posting again man!

and Justinius, here's an article for the paints and such: http://www.benzworld.org/publications/pub.asp?id=164

also, I'd clear coat it no matter what paint you use just to stay on the safe side...

my manual says to slide the light to the rear and use a screwdriver to pull out the front. Easy.

I got mine painted at Quigley's auto body in Lake Forest at the same time I got my rear bumper fixed. Matches perfectly and has a clear coat

Need clear coat just for "shine". The paint should hold up as long as you put on a good amount of paint coats.

2005 lights, yeah, those are on the "wish list" at which point i will just black those out also (minus the clear turns)... but till the budget is permitting (after the holidays)... i'm going with the $20.00 tail light tint mod.

push the sidemarker towards the rear of the car and prey it off with a flat-head screw driver from the front.

don't expect it to slide much.
this is how i removed mine:
i used a cloth (old t-shirt) to covered the screwdriver head.
this will help prevent scratches to the body of your car/side marker.
wedge the screwdriver inbetween the front of the marker where it meets
the front of the car (see picture).
at the same time: push the marker towards the rear and pry/lift up the lense using the screwdriver.
a small clip should be exposed as you continue to lift up.
don't do the process forcefully or too quickly.

when i did mine, i just used my thumbnail in the same place the red arrow is pointing. Both sides just came right out.. push the marker toward the rear and gently pull out... they are not on very tight.

Sorry...I grab the first pic that came across my way. You took a good angle of the side of your car. Pic came out funny for some reason after I drew an arrow and save the file.
