greetingz,
posts....do you happen to be related to that C230_617 character from a while back ??
I'm willing to guess there are multiple dealerships in NJ, call around until you find one that will do it...I've heard of some doing it for free and some charging $50 to $100.

im sorry ill be sure to keep the thread count down so we dont go over our quota. You get the picture. There's people that have been on the boards for quite some time, so a lot of the times, it gets redundant for members (especially newbies) to start threads that could be easily found on search. In this case, I understand why you started the thread, but you could've also posted in threads that have been created with similar material.
Regardless, it's not my place to say. I'm just stating what I see from my perspective. And hopefully you can find a dealer in your area that'll do the HID switch (from off to on).

im sorry ill be sure to keep the thread count down so we dont go over our quota.Thats not it..just take some time to do some research beforehand and it just makes everything smoother for you and for people searching the forum for past information....it's a whole of a hell lot easier to narrow down and understand tech. information when its in a handful of threads compared to pages and pages of crap that seems to happen when multiple new threads are started on the same topic..

And that is exactly the point. Lazy noobs expecting to be spoon fed. Why would noobs expect everybody else to sit, search and post links for them. If they did more of it themselves the would get their answers a lot quicker and just might learn more about it the process.
And the lazy ones that don't have no room to complain. Afterall, they get what they pay for.

It's great that you enjoy your car, but you have to realize that there are a lot of veterans on this forum that did a lot of research and inquiries before you even thought of getting your benz...And a lot of that research was put into finding answers to the questions you ask in "new" threads. There was a point, at the beginning, that you started 2 threads in the same day on the same topic!
I was fortunate enough to have experienced being on a forum (Mx6.com) before and know how to search for information I needed and READ all the 10 million threads if I had to. Everybody on this forum (at one point or another) was a "newbie", but I can guarantee you that the one's that have "staying power" are the ones that actually do look through the 10 million threads (myself included).
Yes, you are correct, this forum is here so that we can help each other in "tuning" and fixing up our cars. That doesn't necessarily give "free rain" for "laziness". Ask yourself this, "Would I rather read through 5 different HID threads or 20?"...The answer is obvious, but by you starting a thread on a topic that's already been discussed 20 times, it makes it even harder for the newbies that come after you to find a proper thread that'll give them the information they need because you've started another thread (so newbies after you will follow suit and start a new thread on every mod that they want to do).
Does that all make sense? My suggestion to you and to any other newbie is to try the search first. Look at the names of the people who seem to be knowledgable (on older thread). If you have a question about that product (e.g. suspension, lights, bulbs, body kits, performance, etc...), pm a "veteran" for an older link that they may be able to lead you to instead of just starting a new one. I hope that helps and don't be afraid to ask, just make sure that you research a lot before starting a new thread that quite possibly may have been discussed already.
1) suspension - due to different motors, the weight distribution might be different.
2) performance - i.e. chipping, intakes, super chargers (exhaust could be exempted from this because most of the setups available are just replacement mufflers)
Other than those two, there isn't much else that would be different on your '06. And even then, it's still possible to bring up older threads to find out if there is further information on your '06. That way, all the information would be on one centralized thread.
Does that make sense?
I had to 'bribe' my dealer to do it. I told him I'd 'remind' MBUSA when I get the CS survey how they dented my grille on a simple oil change.
