C230K Door Protector Needed.
Hi all,
Loving this forum. New MB owner. Don't care what some say, I think the 230K Coupe is an awesome car and a great deal. It's perfect in city.
Anyway one big problem is using the parking garage, which is VERY convienent but is going to take it's toll on my black coupe. I've only had it two weeks and seeing little dings. The main problem is driver side door. I need to protect the edge. I found some rubber stripping but there is a thick pointed part that I can't find anything to protect with (see photo below).
Any ideas appreciated.

no.. the attendants in garage are hitting the wall.. not me!
it's a parking garage.. i drop the car off and the attendant takes it upstairs in elevator and parks it. it looks like they hit the cement wall occasionally (you would think they would pad the walls!)

OMG…..that sucks. I would never take my car their again, I don’t ever even valet my car. But then again I have a disease when it comes to cars paint. Sometimes I won’t even eat at a place if there is ****ty parking,

I think its Performance Products that has magnetic and/or hanging protection strips that are removable. Check their site.

i hate it when i bring it to the parking garages and those stupid F***s treat ur car like crap.. they floor both gas/brakes, and they slam ur doors to other cars, kuz they always say "we're not responsible for any damages to you vehicle"

Buy some clear guard in bulk and cut pieces to fit there and it should work great.

the girlfriend gets pissed.Belle the Benz, I'm with you. If I can avoid restaurants with valet, then so be it. BJ's Brewery is a perfect example! If I'm correct all of the restaurants have valet parking. Why???? The attendant almost rammed my car into another vehicle because he wasn't looking.

Thanks for replies. I'm looking into both Performance Products and that AutoPaint Guard.. which i might want to have done to the whole front of my car. How do I find a good shop in the NYC that can install that perfectly?
I can't change garages. it's actually one of the better garages in NYC and it's right across the street!! (which is HUGE)
It's one of those drawbacks of owning a car in the city (which i don't recommend) but I really wanted to get back to driving my own car and wanted this little mercedes that i bought.
I was using Zipcar for awhile, which is a GREAT service for city folk who don't want to own but need a car on occasion. And you get some fun cars to drive and test out.
