I'm pretty sure the C200K (even 2006 model) is still the m271, which would lead me to believe that this thread would apply to you as well. This is the D.I.Y. for the 230K SS, however I think the filter location is the same.

k&n part number is E-2011, I am ordering one today from Autozone for $59.00 and 1 day delivery.
I have seen a few aluminum replacement intake tubes on some of the M271's around here (replaces the sound dampening one). Where do they come from?
IMHO a K&N drop in and a metal intake pipe is the only intake mods a m271 needs. I have inspected the system and have decided that all the ducting will flow at least as much air as the mouth of the MAF.
Nicest stock intake system I have ever seen!

not sure which metal ones you are talking about- but i would leave it as is. a metal one, if there even is such a thing- might flow a tad more, but the air it's flowing is going to be much warmer due to the fact that the metal holds the head and the stock fabric piece does not.

I don't think it would have any better air flow, but I do know that it will allow me to hear my intake/supercharger more clearly. (This is my desire)
As far as heating the air ... eh ... thats pretty low surface area, and the air is only in that tube for an instant. Heat gain would be negligible IMHO. At least I am not trying to run an open air box, or something. Perhaps one of those cone filters that people place directly over the exhaust manifold? Those are my favorite

You still have another hand to use, don't you? You can seriously replace the filter with one hand torquing all the screws and lifting the filter. This really is one of the easiest DIY's.

That's a different story. Yeah, I know the feeling of having an injury limit what you can do. A couple months after I bought my car, I injured my knee and had to be off my feet for 1 month (no driving).

Installed my K&N a week ago, and so far no problems. The car is definitely more responsive and feel like it breathes better. Might just be my head, but the butt dyno feels more power. Either way, money well spent in my book!
