I am wondering why FM won't work on it? IS it because of the band difference? I always thought there was the adaptor you plugged into back that would allow you to use japanese radios.
Is the issue something that MB built into these units?

I'm going to test the unit tomorrow in my car. The A, B, and C connectors look the same as on my Audio 30 Alpine head unit. I'm just going to connect the A and B connectors since they carry power, ground, and speaker connections. I'm not sure about the wiring schematic for the C connector...anybody have the WIS for Japanese comand 2.0 part #A203 827 54 42 showing the pinouts for the C connector? The back of the comand unit also has an FM antenna connection and a GPS connection. There are also 3 other white molex type connectors that I can't identify. I'll connect the FM antenna cable as well and see what stations if any come up.

People buy Carrozzeria HU's here in the states. I have seen them in people's cars and they get the FM to work fine using an adapter... I knew I wasn't smoking crack. Found it.... it's just a band expander that will expand it but won't alter what's displayed on your HU..... big deal. There are even some on ebay... check it out.

...pictures of that unit at work were up this forum more then 2 years ago...the graphics are nice - so much better then in the ROW comands but besides that the unit is plain useless...
For those who think differently - I still have 5 such units - NEW - to get rid off!

i agree, how much do you want for said useless product? all i'd want it for would be as a cd player. would it happen to play DVD's also? that doesnt matter a whole lot to me. depending on the price, i might wanna get one for my 02 cause i have only the radio to listen to currently. i dont care if the GPS didnt work and i might get the range expander for the FM just for the hell of it.

Will this unit play DVD without MOD?
Dear all, this is the first time I log in here and this is the first message I'm posting. I need expert advise from you all. I've purchase a unit exactly same from the picture and the unit will take about 2 weeks to my place. I need to know whether the unit will play DVD or not? Any advise from the current user? By the way, my Asia made W203 didn't come with all the phone cabling so if I want to use the phone with my command unit what must I do? Please advise. Thanks to all and have a good day.
