MB Car Wash

A few weeks ago I brought my C230 in to get that NO PHONE message removed and to get the underhood lining replaced due to a small hole puncture. When it was time to pick up my car, it was dripping wet! I was hoping they would put more effort into cleaning my car aside from just hosing it down.

Do you guys get your cars wiped "dry" by MB or do they do that to everyone?

They never dry mine either. Which leaves streaks on the windows. They also don't get all the brake dust off the wheels. And they don't clean the interior either. Good thing they don't ask me to pay for it.

Dealer in MN does a great job washing cars. They wash all cars by hand, dry them with special towels and vacuum inside...

Same at MB of Laguna Niguel. The cars are hand washed, interiors vacuumed, windows cleaned inside and out and armor all for the tires and dried and then touched up when they bring it to you.

My dealer doesn't know how to get rid of the no phone message! I asked a few times, both times the service manager was busy and I was talking to my salesperson about it who acted as a middle man for our conversation. Everyone was polite about it, apologizing about the no phone display, but the message they were sending was clear; it's impossible to get it off unless I want them to turn off the whole thing. What should I tell them next time I drop by ?

Sure they do. You can go to any MB dealer in your area! Some are more experienced and knowledgable than others.

Great, then I'll drop by one of those express service centers I just found in my manual. I hope they can get rid of it.

Tell them to use the Star Diagnosis program to get rid of it. When I called the service dept. and told them to take that message off, they weren't sure, but once I mentioned SD, they called up a technician and he knew exactly what to do. It takes no more than 5 minutes to do the job. Tell me how it goes!

well, out of the 3 dealerships i've been to, the 1st hand washes the car, the 2nd uses one of those touchless systems, and the 3rd has a system where it is supposed to air dry.

i asked the service guy about it and he said that they had concerns about drying the car and introducing scratches so they went to the air dry system. when the car came back dripping wet, it was kind of a suprise to me too. maybe your dealership is doing the same thing?

I don't let anyone wash my car for me. And, I don't care what kind of "hand wash" they do, they will probably add scratches. I'll do it myself, thank you . You're actually probably better off not having them dry it.

I agree. I'm pretty picky about my car, and I normally like to wash it myself. That way I know that I'm using the right materials for cleaning and drying, and I'm not using the same thing on the body of the car and the wheels.

consider yourselves lucky....my dealership:

1) refuses to wash cars because of 'a water shortage'
2) totally screwed up my Bose by adjusting the AudioPilot incorrectly
3) has no clue how to operate a computer, let alone the Star Diag software

So...I went to another dealer to get service for the things they cant seem to get right. Unfortunately, they oly give loaners to people who bought cars from their store...

I should have listened to Greg, but it was too let....the salesmonkey already had my deposit and refused to refund it.

....and YES, MB USA has been notified.

I think I might make an exception.

The other day, Michelle and I were on the way to yet another baby class, and on the corner were a group of HS girls in bikinis with a big sign for a car wash to benefit something at their school. I was pretty tempted to stop for that! But..... that could just lead to trouble.....

vyse, don't let it go to your head... It doesn't take much to prove you're more knowledgeable than your service manager. LOL!

Revstriker, in my neck of the woods, there are three High Schools, all competing for my car wash donation. Some of those babies wear pretty skimpy bikinis. If you didn't live in such a slummy town, maybe you'd see more bikinis!!! ( :p :p ... just pulling your chain, dude!)
