getting new wheels for C230K

Should I go with 17's or 18. my main concern is not money, rather the ride quality and control.
Thanks for all how reply

IMO... go with 18s...
ride quality diminishes a little... control is better...
and it looks definitely better....
i vote for 18s... and go for staggered... 18x8 or 8.5 and 18x9.5

2 cents,
ryan

18" you have to use lower profile tire which you have to sacrifice comfort. Also with 18" the fender gap looks better so you have to lower it. Third 18" are for looks and you actually gain some handling but lose performance.

Why would you lose performance?

i think the only performance you would lose with 18s is acceleration. that is only if you get a heavy set of 18s.
go with a lighter set.

I like the second choice much, much better. The other style is too massive for a Coupe, in my opinion. It would be good on an S-class. Have fun shopping. I spent a week deciding which wheels to get with my snow tires.

I vote for the 17" Monoblock. In fact I was planning to get those too.

For 2nd pic I rather have the 5-spoke SLK AMG wheels

definitely go for the thin 5-spoke... the monoblocks IMO do not look sporty enough for the car...
i think in the gallery on mbnz.com... there is a silver coupe with the monoblocks.... it can give you an idea....

Timmy,
Go with the 18 8.5 235 40 front and 18 9.5 255 35 in the rear they fit great, and ride is not bad. If you want to go with 17's I have a set of C32 tires and rims that could be a third choice.

did you think about the wheels off of a CLK 430 or SLK sport? I have seen those on a C coupe on the street here in town and it looks pretty good. The slight curve of the spoke makes it suit the car very well. They are 17x7.5, 17x8.5 with 225/45/17 F and 245/40/17 R. You can buy them used pretty cheap too. Check eBay, I think there's a few sets available.
