Got my car back today...
1) Change shifter and use a C7 model
2) Change transmission and use original shifter
3) Use C7 shifter on new transmission
If step 1 works, great, it was cheap and easy
If step 2 works, they have isolated a recurring problem and should be happy
If step 3 works, they have at least found a fix for some situations, and made the customer happy.
The thing that bothers me is that I know they drove the car quite a bit, (they gave it back with an empty tank, and the low fuel warning on) so they knew it wasn't fixed. I just don't have the time to do Mercedes testing for them.

Mine has actually been OK--now that the weather has warmed up. Not looking forward to fall....

For the oil usage problem, they changed the oil and filter and did a measurement to set it up for an oil consumption test. I have to take it back in 300-400 miles for them to check the oil level.
The clutch stiffness is fixed for those of you with the same problem. It looks like they kind of shotgunned it and replaced everything.

How much oil are you going to remove to pass their test? I think if you can get rid of a quart that will work.
