N000bie here

Picked up an 06 C230 about 2 months ago. I'm a basic guy so I needed a basic car: 6 speed, diamond black metalic (which looks more like blue or purple), black leather, sunroof. That's it. And altho I always hated mercedes (old man's car) this thing is really growing on me. Ok - maybe it doen't handle like my old E36 but it has a very smooth ride and is deceptively fast.

I'll be back with various questions that some smart azz is bound to tell me to use the search button.

Welcome to the board! Use the search...LOL. In all seriousness, hope you enjoy driving a Benzo (not that your E36 was a shabby car, cuz I like that car a lot too)

Yep. She's married, has 12 kids, knocked kneed, crosseyed and is rather heavy (we haven't seen her ankles since she was 9). Still want pics?

haven't planned on doing anything for a lil while but I am contemplated oninstalling a a pulley kit. It bothers me that teh new 325's will be able to pull away from me (in teh hards of a good pilot of course) so I need to nullify that 15 hp advantage that they have.

Wassup Drex. I've got an MX-6 too ('93 LS burgundy). It is a decent ride tho - taken it for a few jaunts up to NYC and as far south as Hilton Head. But mine is a friggin money pit. Distributor problems so it cuts off intermittently, the rack and pinion is making a funny 'cracking' noise every now and then and boy does it eat gas! Wanna buy it? lol

Have you ever checked the 0^2 sensor or the MAF? Those were 2 very common problems in that car. I actually haven't owned the mx-6 for 2 years already. If you ever go on mx6.com, I sold it to my friend Bartley (that's his screename too).

The rack and pinion always made noise on mine too! Another one of those common problems. Nope, can't buy it bro. I would consider it if I had more time and more money to invest (cuz then I'd slap on a KL-ZE and turbo charge that thing.) and make it a weekend driver. For now, all my energy is going into by 230K.

Awesome that you have the mx6 though! I really loved that car a lot, but had to let it go.

As much fun as it was it couldn't touch my 325 on the fun-o-meter. I really want to get a 95 E36 M3 (95 - OBD1) and mod the hell outa it. But I really want one of these as a summer car

Well, that's also comparing a BMW to the lowly MX-6...LOL...I'd have probably said the same thing when if I had a 325 over a MX6. One thing I can say, buying stuff for that car was SO much cheaper than I thought back then. Now, with the cost of mods for this car, mods for the mx6 seem like chump change. Just to give you an idea, my Hot Shot CAI w/ AEM bi-pass valve as well as Hot Shot headers, together cost less than a Pulley kit for this car and it gave around the same amount of hp increase (i.e. 20-30).
