Yeah, its quite a rework...the car even has a wider track. I'd suspect that when W204 arrives, the current suspension will transfer over, largely intact.

Thanks for the clarification Outland. I'm going to read up more about the "direct control" because I didn't even realize that there was more to it with the upgrades on the '05-present models
Goto some of the british or german car mag sites, they give you details about whats all changed.

(especially because I already had my '04.5 by the time they released the '05).
Yeah, I don't get WTF benz was thinking with the 04.5 vs 05 nonsense. They introduced the new wheels, and the big brakes midway through 04, and then in 05 they give you the suspension you'd really want to go with it. Crappy timing for sure.

I'm sure I'd be more satisfied with the handling, but I also wouldn't be happy with having to pay for the service, so that would be a big trade-off for me.
Well, let's just say we all can change our own oil for 149bucks or so that the dealer charges. And the rest of the service is bunk...nothing you couldn't do on your own. As long as you got the warranty to ferret out the normal benz bull**** that they decided you wouldn't mind having to fix in the first four years of ownership. Love the car, hate MBUSA.

True dat, but the difference now is that I'm not 18 and anxious to do stuff on my own anymore...Work has made me lazy, if that's possible.
