CD Changer Obsolete - Yes/No?

If I install an aftermarket HU, replace with Focal speakers, add an amp and two subs, would the CD changer be obsolete or can I still have the aftermarket HU control it?

It will be obsolete, as it uses a fiberoptic interface that only MB head units can utilize. The changer may have a "traditional" interface as well, not sure about this, but the steering wheel controls will not work in any case.

you can sell your mb changer for 350-400$ on e-bay, and use that cash for a changer, the one I bought still fits the glovebox
