The other day I shut the car off and heard a faint high pitch whinning sound under the hood,about 1/2 hr later. I couldnt find out where it was comming from but when I started the car and shut it off it stopped.

I hear the same thing....but have never figured it out. I don't think it is anything to worry about, but if anyone here knows...it would be nice to know what it is

I have the same thing....always while I was washing the car , after it had been driven...thought that had something to do with it.

i THINK its just the car shutting down... like its just going through like a final cooling mode and so fans keep spinning... i hear it sometimes after i park my car in the garage... i dont think its anything to worry about...
