Question for Canadians

Hello everyone, I have a question to any Canadians who have or are looking to lower there car. I was looking for any prices you have been quoted. I was quoted $600 CDN for a set of H&R spring & installation. Is this high?

If they're going to charge you that much for the springs, go order it off the 'net and then bring it to a speed shop to get it installed. Installation should cost around $100. Should bring you to around $500 give or take.

Oh yeah, if you do find somewhere cheap, remmeber to post it! I'd love to lower my car without the hassle of ordering it through the internet.

My friend had his Impreza lowered for $450 CDN, now, that's an Impreza, so the price might be different, but he used Eibach springs, and they are actually often more expensive than H&R, so I'm guessing it's possible to have the C230 lowered for around the same price.

Hey Pit-Pony, what brand were the springs that he quoted you for? $179US is pretty cheap!

Eibach Lowering Springs.

($179US + shipping, clearing etc. pre PST/GST total of $350Cdn.) I have looked into installation & it's under 2 hours, even at a dealer that should be about $150 for a grand total of $575.00 Cdn, taxes in. Mounts up fast eh?

I have learned that you can always get it cheaper :-)

Wow,$350CDN is a good price. How does GST/PST work on internet shopping? Can't he just mail it to me as a "gift" package, therefore, avoiding the whole GST/PST thing? $150 dealer installed is pretty good too; considering shops will charge $100 most of the time.

Do you know if they carry H&R?

Why don't you call. That's where I purchased my Schatz tips. It was a small package, came in the mail and the post office didn't charge a penny of tax. Get lucky sometimes.

As for install, our delaer is small, so I just go and negotiate a price and offer to have this type of work done when it's a slow day for them, no rush.
