I am getting frustrated with my keyless entry. I have a 2002 C230 and the integrated radio frequency part of the key only works when it wants to. I can get up close to the door and use the infrared part of the key just fine. I had the rear window on my car tinted with non-metalisized tint and I have tried ordering a new key and even the new key only works on occasion. Please help.......

 

Sounds like a rear amp or tint problem (despite your efforts).

How is your radio reception ? Do you get more static when you hit a bump ?

 

What is the "amp"? I should have also stated that when I had the tint off the window the problem was still there.

Where should I be looking? Also, my car is missing the small screw-on antenna on the rear window, is this a problem?

sorry, I forgot to answer the question. I have not had any problems with the radio at all. I have not had any static.
